WE MEAN BEACH !
At BAYSIDE RIDING CLUB

VISITORS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

Tracie & Arent Brink began Bayside in February 1992 when
they started clearing the cactus and stones off the 7.5 acre
property.  After three years of hard work the stable was
finally completed.  In 1995 Hurricane Luis hit as a category 5
and completely destroyed the entire facility.  Unbelievably, all
the horses survived the storm.  Construction began
immediately after the storm and by 2000 the facility was
finished again.

There have been many wonderful people involved over the
years and the stable has thrived.

Bayside is a labor of love and our goal is to show everyone
that it is possible to have a rental horse business and take
VERY GOOD CARE of horses.

Operating a stable on a small island is difficult to say the
least.  All the horse feed, equipment and yes, the horses
have to be imported to the island.

Most of our horses are rescues.  Bringing a horse to St.
Martin is an adventure all by itself and the cost is extremely
high.  They either have to arrive by boat or airplane.  The
trips can be long and tiring for the horses and the person
traveling with them.  Once they have arrived they learn that
people are good and kind and settle in happily very quickly.

Some take a long time in rehabilitation. This can be physically
and/or mentally.

"The horses" soon enjoy their time teaching the children
residing on St. Martin / St. Maarten how to ride.  Many are
over 20 years old and are still going strong.  If kept in
good physical shape and conditioned properly, they
are able to live out their lives here in paradise with us.

With time, they have all become gentle, loving horses which
are very willing to take you on an unforgettable ride through
St. Martin's Nature Marine Reserve to help earn their keep.
"We are privileged to know and love them."
